A mechatronic robot

Mechatronic Clubs

In partnership with the Owensboro Museum of Science and History, Owensboro Community & Technical College encourages elementary, middle and high schools to create Mechatronics Clubs by supplying the necessary tools to explore technology in a hands-on environment. Participating schools receive a robotics kit that can be individually built and programmed. Additionally, OCTC coordinates industry tours of manufacturers utilizing mechatronics in the region. Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) skills are emphasized and explored through creative and imaginative learning.

Clubs are free and robotic kits are provided by Owensboro Community & Technical College. Club members compete in FIRST Competitions and events throughout the year.

Want to Register?

We are getting ready for the FIRST Lego League (FLL) and FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) seasons again. However, this year due to our National Science Foundation grant ending, we will not be providing teams with the national registration fees but may offer some fun and exciting fundraising opportunities.

For those unaware of the national registration fees, FLL is $200 while FTC is $275. Fees are required in order to allow our sanctioning as hosts of FIRST events. Additionally, FLL will require $25 per team and FTC a $125 per team to reserve your space at OCTC. A limited number of spaces are available at each.
