The Owensboro Community and Technical College Nursing program prepares students to provide and manage client care. The program curriculum combines general and nursing education. Classroom lectures are combined with the clinical learning experiences at various health agencies in the community.
The program is approved by the Kentucky Board of Nursing and the College is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). The degree of Associate in Applied Science in Nursing is awarded upon completion of the program, after which you will be eligible to take the National Licensing Examination (NCLEX-RN) to become a Registered Nurse.

Acceptance into the Associate Degree Nursing program is based upon a selective admission process. In order to be considered for admission, you must comply with college and program admission requirements by March 1 for Fall Admission or July 1 for Spring Admission. CPR Certification and documentation of an Active Status on the Medicaid Nurse Aide Registry (or successful completion of its equivalency) is required by the first day of class.

The Kentucky Board of Nursing may deny licensure to a nursing graduate who has been convicted of a misdemeanor or felony that involves acts that bear directly on the qualifications of the graduate to practice.
