| Frequently Asked Questions about SUNRISE
What if I don't have a copy of my
schedule or grade report so I can find my student ID?
We do not give your student ID out over the phone to protect your
privacy. Stop by the Student Records or Counseling Center at any
of our campuses. With identification we will be happy to print you
a new schedule.
What if I get an error when I enter my
name and student ID to activate my account?
Here are the most common reasons that you get an error message:
- You try to activate your account
soon after you register. It takes 24 hours for your account to be
created after you register, so if you try sooner, you will get an
error.
- Your last name is entered
incorrectly or misspelled. You must enter your last name exactly as
it appears on your schedule/bill or grade report since this is your
name as the KCTCS records show it. This means entering everything
before the comma separating it from your first name on your
schedule/bill or grade report. If your name includes "Jr." or "Sr."
it should appear before the comma on your schedule or grade report
and must be entered.
- You are a student worker at OCTC.
Since you are both a student and an employee, your activation access
is handled differently. Please contact Craig Miller <craig.miller@kctcs.edu>
if you have problems due to this.
- You are using a older version of
Netscape Navigator. The KCTCS account activation page will not work
with some older versions of Netscape Navigator. Once you activate
your account using an Internet Explorer browser, you can use
Netscape to access your KCTCS e-mail.
I logged on, and I know my password is
correct, but a page comes up that says "The page cannot be displayed"
Starting 14 days
before your password expires (it expires every 90 days), web-based
Outlook will display a message at the top (in yellow) telling you that
your password will soon expire. Once this message begins to appear, you
may start getting error messages such as "The page cannot be displayed"
when you log on. If so, click the Refresh button, and your mailbox
should appear. This problem will go away once you change your password,
which can be done under the Options menu.
I'm no longer a student--can I still
access my records?
You should be able to access your records for one semester following
your last date of enrollment. After that, your access is disabled
until you register for classes again.
