VI. Potential Benefits
If realized as envisioned, the QEP will result in numerous benefits for students, including:
- An increase in students’ ability to express themselves and their ideas
- An increase in student understanding of the methods of expressing themselves
- An increase in student integrity and responsibility
- An increase in students’ ability to understand the connections between their coursework and “seeing the big picture” in regard to their college education
- An increase in the transfer of learning between classes and into the workplace
- An enhanced likelihood of students becoming life long learners
- An improved ability to work in teams
- An increase in student collaboration
- An increase in faculty and student collaboration and engagement
- Greater connection between students, faculty, and staff
- A greater understanding of the importance of general education competencies
- Greater civic engagement
- An enhancement of the college’s image, and thus our importance, in the larger community
