The STEP Exams provide an opportunity to demonstrate mastery of course content and receive credit toward programs requirements.  The student must be accepted for admission (enrolled) in the college and apply for the STEP Exam through the Student Records Office.

Students who demonstrate competence receive credit for the course, P.  The credit does not affect the student's grade point average.  If the STEP exam is taken while the student is enrolled in the particular course, passing the STEP exam will not result in a tuition refund.  If the STEP exam is taken prior to enrolling in the particular course and the student passes the exam, the student will not need to enroll in the course.

The cost for the STEP exam is $20 for the written portion and $40 for the practical portion.  These fees must be paid prior to taking the exam.
