Biotechnology

The biotechnology program at Owensboro Community and Technical College provides you with the skill and knowledge needed to gain entry-level employment in the biotechnology industry. You'll be properly trained in the theories and principles of biological systems, field and laboratory techniques, and manufacturing principles of the biotechnology industry.

Available Credentials

Associate in Applied Science (AAS)

  • Biotechnology:  62-66 credit hours

Certificate

  • Biotechnology:  30 credit hours

Employment Opportunities

The program is set up to prepare you for employment in the fields of Pharmaceutical Manufacturing, Laboratory Research, Environmental Testing, Agricultural Research, and Quality Control.

This program has no special admission requirements.

Length of Program

You can earn an associate of applied science degree in two years if you maintain full-time status.
