The first philosophy we will read is by Plato, the ancient Greek philosopher. These four books, often called The Last Days of Socrates, will be read in the order listed. Click on any one of them for the electronic text.

There are five writing assignments taken from these Platonic dialogues.
First is a summary of the Euthyphro.
Second is an abstract of the Apology.
Third is an extraction of the thesis of the Crito.
Fourth is an outline of the "Allegory of the Cave."
The fifth assignment is a major essay about Socrates's philosophy.
