Dr. Petr
Šantavý of the Palacky University Hospital in our Sister City of
Olomouc, Czech Republic with the endorsement by the Chair of the
Cardiac Surgery Department, will be hosted for a month long
exchange from April 14 - May 13, 2007. Owensboro Mercy Health
System, Jewish Hospital in Louisville and Owensboro Sister
Cities / Regions are cooperating for the purpose of this
exchange.
OMHS has hosted five doctors from our Sister City in the past
and we participated in a March 1998 exchange of Dr. Ken
Henderson, then Senior Vice President of Medical Staff Affairs
at OMHS with Palacky University Hospital. This is the first
request for a specific medical specialty exchange. As the
request is being initiated through our Sister City relationship,
Owensboro Sister Cities will help support the exchange visit.
Specific professional needs in support of the exchange are being
discussed between Sister Cities and OHMS. Dr. Doug Adams is the
lead host Cardiac Surgeon at OMHS.
Dr. Peter Šantavý is the son of two well-known physicians in
Olomouc. Both parents visited OMHS during a 2000 medical
exchange. We are requesting hosting families for this exchange
and would welcome offers to host Dr. Šantavý for outings or
receptions with your friends during the stay.
