For people who have full-time jobs or variable work schedules, coming on campus can be a problem. Telecourses are ideal for those people. Also, students who wish to take an extra class without spending additional time on campus can benefit.
Students will be required to be on campus for an orientation session (should the instructor choose to hold one) and for examination dates. There are usually four to five exams scheduled per semester. Instructors may also schedule optional review sessions before examinations.
Telecourse students should be motivated individuals who possess a good amount of self-discipline. Good reading comprehension skills are important, too, as assignments will involved a substantial amount of reading. Also, telecourse students should have the time to devote to studying on a regular basis. While telecourse students do not have to attend class regularly, reading and other assignments and studying for exams do require time.
