NOTE TAKING FOR SCIENCE
Sciences, such as
biology, physics, nursing, and radiology are so encompassing that the note taking procedure can be
overwhelming. In his book, Winning at Math, Dr. Paul Nolting
suggests using the system below for study purposes. In the first
column, list your keywords. In the second column, explain what the
keywords mean, or give the rules for using them. In the third
column, give examples of using the keywords or examples of what they
are.. Although he wrote his book for
math study skills in particular, the information can be used for any subject.
Students from the nursing field suggested to the Teaching
and Learning Center the below modifications to Dr.Nolting's
math note-taking sheet.
Keywords Explanation/Rules Examples From the book Winning at Math, Your Guide to Learning Mathematics
through Successful Study Skills, by Dr. Paul D. Nolting, Learning
Specialist. This book is available for students' use in the
Teaching and Learning Center.
