How do you know if you need a tutor? What do tutors do; what do
they not do? Will tutoring help you?
The Teaching
and Learning Center has tried to answer those questions for you.
In addition,
we want you to know that we have many types of tutors. We have peer tutors
- fellow students who must meet certain qualifications and who have been trained
by us. We have three staff members who tutor: Director Judy Coomes,
Instructional Specialist Jelaine McCamish, and Instructional Specialist Sherry
Lee. In addition, we usually have faculty volunteers.
Therefore, you can see
that you have a wide range of tutor types from which to choose. We
also have an assortment of tutoring hours. They are always listed
on our tutor board and on our tutoring schedules. Our staff tutors
are here daily.
